Writers block, no artistic inspiration, empty feeling, all are signs of what is called artist block. I had them in the past, but no longer. Over the years I discovered that for me each painting, sculpture or writing needed to be ignited by a sense of inspiration from the inside of me. It doesn't matter what you call it, that's how it has worked best for me.
And in the past when I didn't feel inspired to create something I would feel lost, empty, dead inside. I would say to myself, what's wrong with me, I must find something to do, to create.
Then I received information about creativity and our chakra system. Chakra (cakra in Sanskrit) means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. They are thought to be spinning disks of energy that should stay “open” and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being.
The sacral chakra is believed to be the second chakra in the human body. It's thought to govern how you experience sexuality, emotions, and more. When we focused in our 2nd chakra our creativity drops and we can become focused on physical life often causing creative blocks, and even depression or focused on negativity.
The opposite of the second chakra is the sixth chakra, known as the third eye chakra, its purpose is pattern recognition, also known as the “seeing” chakra. The element of the third eye is light which gives us the ability to see, to take in the shape and form of things around us from a distance and also creative expression and inspiration.
So how does one move their focus from the 2nd chakra to the 6th chakra? For me creating anything starts the process. It can be as simple as just having fun or trying something new or playing in another artistic medium without judgement or analysis of my outcomes. This always lifts my spirits and opens my door of inspiration and therefore ideas for new artistic projects. So go have fun, be new, be different, love life!
Good tips.
Thanks
